VSPM Academy of Higher Education (VSPMAHE) enthusiastically celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June 2026 with the objective of promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and the importance of yoga in daily life. The celebration witnessed active participation from all four constituent institutions of the academy, namely N.K.P. Salve Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, Ranjeet Deshmukh Dental College & Research Centre, VSPM College of Nursing, and VSPM College of Physiotherapy.
To encourage creativity and spread awareness about the significance of yoga, a series of inter-institutional competitions were organized. These included an Essay Competition, Slogan Competition, and Poster Competition. Faculty and studentsfrom all four institutions participated enthusiastically and showcased their knowledge, creativity, and artistic skills by highlighting the benefits of yoga for maintaining a healthy body, peaceful mind, and balanced lifestyle. The competitions were judged by an expert panel, and the entries were evaluated based on originality, relevance to the theme, creativity, and overall presentation. The enthusiasm and talent displayed by the participants reflected their understanding of the importance of yoga in leading a healthy and stress-free life.
A prize distribution ceremony was organized to recognize and appreciate the outstanding performances of the participants. Winners of the Essay, Slogan, and Poster competitions were felicitated with prizes and certificates by the dignitaries of VSPMAHE. Their achievements were applauded by the audience, inspiring other students to actively participate in such educational and health-promoting activities. The celebration concluded on a positive note with a message emphasizing the incorporation of yoga into everyday life for achieving holistic health and overall well-being. The event was a grand success and effectively reinforced the values of fitness, discipline, and harmony among students and faculty members across all participating institutions. Dr. Venugopal Reddy, professor & Head, Department of Public Health Dentistry stood first in the Essay writing competition.
