In a significant step towards empowering women in dentistry and promoted holistic well-being, the Bharat Dental Show Women’s League successfully inaugurated its Nagpur Chapter at Ranjeet Deshmukh Dental College and Research Centre, Nagpur. The event brought together dental professionals, academicians, healthcare experts, and distinguished guests for an enriching day of learning and awareness. The program was organized under the leadership of Organizing Chairperson Dr. Saloni Mehta Mistry and Organizing Secretary Dr. Manali Mehta.
The scientific sessions commenced with an insightful lecture by Dr. Neelam Pande, Head of the Department of Prosthodontics at RDDC & RC, Nagpur, on “Music Therapy: Ultimate Way Out to Distress.” The session highlighted the therapeutic benefits of music in reducing stress and enhancing mental well-being among healthcare professionals.
The second session featured Dr. Maneesha Deshpande, Principal, and Professor at VSPM’s College of Physiotherapy, Nagpur and also Consultant Physiotherapist, and her topic was “Movement as Medicine – Reclaiming Calm in the Chaos of Midlife,” she emphasized the importance of physical activity and lifestyle modifications for maintaining health and emotional balance.
A unique and impactful segment of the program was a demonstration on Women’s Safety conducted by a Sub-inspector and Head Constable from MIDC Police Station, Hingna. The demonstration focused on self-protection techniques, awareness, and practical strategies for personal safety, receiving enthusiastic participation from attendees, including non-teaching staff of the department as well as college. The event reflected the Bharat Dental Show Women’s League’s commitment to fostering professional growth, health awareness, and women’s empowerment within the dental fraternity. Participants appreciated the multidisciplinary approach of the program, which addressed both professional and personal well-being.
