The online registration received a very good response with total 39 registration including 2 faculty members and 37 post-graduate students from dental, physiotherapy and nursing background.
Day I started with pre-test, group formations, followed by the brief inaugural ceremony. Sessions and group activities were conducted as per the prescribed schedule. It included basic concept of bio-medical research, various study designs, literature search, and data collection & representation methods. Participants also engaged in group activity of formulation of research question and selection of appropriate study design. It ended with feedback of the sessions.
Day 2 started with group activity on literature search and reference management. Sessions thereafter included lectures on Sampling Methods, sample size calculation, qualitative research, Questionnaire Designing, inferential statistics and writing a research protocol. It ended with feedback of the sessions. Group activity on sample size calculation was also conducted.
Day 3 covered topics like Ethical issues in medical research, Evaluation of Diagnostic test, Dissertation Writing (Annexure C), Critical evaluation of Journal Article, Computer assistance in data analysis. Group activity on selection, presentation and discussion of journal articles was conducted. Participants presented their final research projects and were given feedback on the same. It ended with daily and overall feedback and post-test evaluation.
Valedictory function was organized wherein Dr. Abhay Kolte (Dean and Chairman BORS RDDCRC) and Dr. Mukta Motwani (Vice Dean Clinical RDDCRC) felicitated the faculty members for conducting the workshop. Dr. Kolte lauded the enthusiastic participation from all members. Dr. Anushree Bhoge thanked all resource faculty for sharing their valuable time and expertise. Dr. Ramnath Rewankar (Participant- Faculty) expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the workshop. Dr. Samruddhi Oswal (participant-student) also said that deliberations and group activities were very useful for understanding research methodology. She suggested that topic of systematic review and meta-analysis to be included in the workshop.
Overall feedback for the workshop was very positive.
